Community Investment Tax Credit

An added benefit of First Teacher’s partnership with JPNDC is that gifts of $1,000 or more—whether given at once or cumulatively over the year—may qualify for a 50% Community Investment Tax Credit.

That means a $1,000 gift will result in a $500 tax credit when you file your taxes, after completing a brief form.

    • A program passed by the legislature in 2012 as part of a larger bill to promote economic growth in Massachusetts.

    • JPNDC is certified by the Mass. Dept of Housing & Community Development to participate in the CITC program and has one of the largest pools of tax credits to distribute.

    • Donation: Any amount of $1,000 or higher.

    • Mass. Tax Credit: 50% of your donation amount subtracted from your tax bill or added to your reimbursement.

    • Time period: 2026 calendar year.

    • Eligibility: Any US resident, business or non-profit organization eligible to file a Massachusetts tax return.
